My boys love to build and construct things. They have their own tool boxes and tool belts for their projects. So I’m always looking for fun, cheap things for them to do. I’ve always heard about Home Depot doing a kids workshop, but never really looked into it until recently.

I went on their website and found they hold the workshop every first Saturday of the month. They also let you know what the project will be for the next 2 projects. You can sign up online and they will email you a reminder a few days before the workshop. Which really comes in handy if you are like me and remember 1 hour after it’s over. I’ve started setting reminders in my phone to keep me on track.

They are scheduled from 9am to 12pm. My first time, I thought, “Wow, that’s a long time!”. I thought my kids would get bored. BUT, after going to the first one, we found out they are not 3 hours long! That’s just the time frame you can stroll on in at your leisure.

The kids get a FREE Home Depot apron, project kit, certificate for their project and a pin with a picture of the project they did, all to take home. Then you can use their hammers, paint and glue for free to build the creation!

My boys really enjoy doing this and we will be heading there tomorrow to make a birdhouse!
