Easter Bunny Trail Mix #PEEPSONALITY
Do you need an inexpensive idea for a bunch of kids this Easter and still want it to be cute? I know I do! It’s my turn to make treats for my son’s class again and I want it to be fun for the kids to eat. I also don’t want it to be all candy.
I decided to do a take on the traveling S’mores recipe. If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s just graham cracker cereal, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. In my recipe, I am using bunny shaped PEEPS® instead of mini marshmallows. I think they will be really fun for the kids and cute! How can a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds not love it??
I didn’t want to just dump everything in a bag, so I went on a search for a cute container. At first, I was looking for cups, but everything I was finding was going to end up fairly expensive if I bought enough for 18 kids.
I decided to head to one of the local dollar stores that has a pretty good holiday selection. I walked over to the Easter section and immediately found festive little treat boxes! These would be perfect for making it look like Easter baskets! I found enough to match and checked out.
When I got home, my 4 year old couldn’t wait to help assemble the treats for his party! We mixed together the graham cracker cereal and chocolate chips. Then we filled the containers and placed 2 different colored PEEPS® on top! Super easy and so cute! My son was very excited to share them with his friends!!
This would make a great treat for your family gathering this Easter or if you have any other parties. Best yet, I spent well under $10 and have plenty leftover to have some treats for the family too! Other mix in ideas could be any of your favorite chocolate candies.
What are your favorite ways to eat PEEPS®? I’ve heard a lot of people say they like to eat them stale! Are you one of those peeps? The PEEPS ® product, information and gift have been provided by Just Born Retail Group. All opinions and thoughts are always my own!!
