I have been craving so many sweets lately. I’m talking throw away the vegetables and give me cake kind of cravings. It has been so bad, I’ve actually eaten pie for breakfast(don’t tell the kids!). So when I have a sweets craving, I am trying to incorporate more yogurts into my life to help curb my sweet tooth and not feel so bad about it.
I was at Walmart, picking out all my favorite yogurts, when I noticed they had a demo in progress for a brand new yogurt. It was Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt. I thought to myself….hmmmm, yogurt that was supposed to taste like ice cream? How would that work? I am a vanilla kind of girl, so of course, I gave the Vanilla Bean flavor a try. I couldn’t believe how good it was!!
As I stood there finishing up my sample, I chatted with Mary about how delicious I found it. Other people were walking by and she would reel them in by asking if they wanted to sample the new ice cream inspired yogurt. I watched as a couple of them were hesitant and didn’t really want to try it. You should have seen the look on their faces. They picked up a little sample cup and as soon as they took a bite, their expressions completely changed! Immediately, they started talking about how tasty it was and added cups of Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt to their carts before heading off to finish their shopping.
I bought 8 cups myself because I had plans for them at home. I thanked Mary for the time she took to get me hooked on this new yogurt and took another lap around the store. I needed a few more items for the idea brewing in my head. It was sure to satisfy my sweets craving and be much better for me than pie.
As soon as I got home, my mouth began to water in anticipation of my idea. I was going to make a Banana Split Parfait with fresh bananas, strawberries and a small can of pineapple chunks. (I opted for the pineapple to be canned because I wasn’t patient enough to wait for a fresh pineapple to ripen!)
I sliced up the bananas and strawberries. Then I decided I should cut the pineapple chunks into smaller pieces too. I wanted to be able to get all the fruit in one bite without having too much of just one.
In a glass, I spread a thin layer of Vanilla Bean Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt into the bottom. The next layer, I placed about half of a banana, sliced. On top of that, I added another layer of yogurt. The middle layer consisted of 3 strawberries, sliced. Then came another layer of yogurt. Now it was time for the pineapple. I’d say I used about 6 or 7 chunks that I sliced into 3 pieces each. Once again, a yogurt layer. Lastly, I topped it with 1 banana slice, 1 strawberry slice and 1 pineapple slice.
There I had it. My creation. I was hoping it would taste as good as it looked. I built it up in my head so much, the anticipation of trying it was torture! I wanted to dive right in! So I did! It was amazing! It really did taste like a banana split without all the guilt! Next time I might drizzle a teeny bit of chocolate syrup on top for it to be even more banana split authentic. You know you want to try it!
When you head to your Walmart to look for Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt, don’t get discouraged if you can’t find it right away. I found the regular spot for it next to the kid’s yogurts. Keep your eyes peeled! You don’t want to miss it! It also comes in 2 other flavors, Raspberry Chocolate Chip and Mint Chocolate Chip.
Do you have inspiration on how to use Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt as a better for you alternative? Or will you enjoy it straight out of the cup?
